facebook is a great way to network for individuals, as well as, business.

Facebook has accounts for individuals, and it has groups and pages to help promote businesses.

You can create events for your groups and pages. It’s a good way to keep up with past friends and meet new people as well.
The best thing about facebook is that it is free. Check out http://www.facebook.com to start your account today.

Website of the Week 4 – howstuffworks.com

Filed under: website of the week — Tags: , , — Adam Dillon @ 6:24 pm

howstuffworks.com

howstuffworks.com has the answers to just about anything that you want to know.

Here are some of the top articles of the day…

  • How the Titanic worked
  • How tree houses work
  • What’s the technological singularity?
  • How ocd works
  • How the U.S. President works
  • Why is it a bad idea to scare a vulture?
  • Can you power an ipod with an onion?

Do some of these headlines leave you curious? Go visit www.howstuffworks.com to satisfy your curiousity.

Website of the Week 3 – craigslist.org

www.craigslist.org

nashville.craigslist.org

Got stuff that you want to sell but you don’t want to pay the high fees of eBay? Try out craigslist.

You can buy and sell just about anything on craigslist. You can also find jobs, post and read forums, and find and list rentals.

A good think about it is that the city subdomains are centralized just in the areas that you live. This way you don’t find something that you really want, then realize that it is located in China.

Website of the Week 2 – filehippo.com

Website of the Week 1 – woot.com

Filed under: website of the week — Tags: , , — Adam Dillon @ 1:44 pm

This weeks the first week of the new Website of the Week. I’m going to start off with a website that I have to check every day.

www.woot.com

Here is the “what is woot” and “who’s behind it” section from their website.

Woot.com is an online store and community that focuses on selling cool stuff cheap. It started as an employee-store slash market-testing type of place for an electronics distributor, but it’s taken on a life of its own. We anticipate profitability by 2043 – by then we should be retired; someone smarter might take over and jack up the prices. Until then, we’re still the lovable scamps we’ve always been.

This website a 1 item a day auction. They sell computers, tv, mice, keyboards, monitors, remotes, and just about any other kind of electronic device that you can think of. They also mix in random objects. Once every month or so, they will also sell a bag of crap for $1 a piece. Anything could be in the bag. It could be bags of air or a tv. Another thing they do is woot offs. A woot off is where they sell an item and when it sells out, they replace it as soon as it sells out.

Please check out this site and let me know what you think.
